Families Doing Time

“...I was in prison and you visited me…” Matthew 25

NPC has a long-standing relationship with The Center for Community Transitions but in the Fall of 2021, that grew into a flourishing partnership. Families Doing Time was looking to re-launch after Covid, needed a home, and found it on our campus. You can read more about Families Doing Time HERE, and there are countless ways to get involved, but a great first step is coming to one of the FDT Third Tuesday events!

Each month, families with a loved one affected by incarceration/deportation are invited to gather in the Fellowship Hall for a meal, programming, and activities that always result in folks of all ages laughing and having fun. The goal is, quite simply, to be good neighbors and show love and support for anyone who walks through those doors. In order to serve all, no family pays a dime for any FDT services, and this ministry is largely dependent on volunteers who help set-up, serve dinner (provided), and clean up afterwards. If this sounds like something you’d like to learn more about, or sign up for, email Freda Schlaman at fredaschlaman@gmail.com.
