Top Ten Reasons
for Going to Newell Presbyterian Church 10)
No Pressure. God already loves you. We
worship to say, “Thank you!” 9)
It is a small church, you won’t get lost in the crowd.
(But, if you are more comfortable being lost in the crowd, you can
try to squeeze in with the others on the back pew.) 8)
We recognize that Christ came not to be served but to serve.
We have a heart for service in our community, and we care about our
neighbors. We enjoy
supporting local community organizations and are very involved with a
homeless shelter through Urban Ministries. 7)
You can talk to the pastor anytime without an appointment.
(He can also give you free baseball lessons.) 6)
Our worship is INSPIRING and our choir is AWESOME!
Plus, we like to have a lot of FUN together. Whatever age you are, there is something to be a part of. 5)
All the free bulletins you want!
After worship, you can use them to make paper airplanes! 4)
Ecclesia Reformata, semper reformanda.
This is the Latin motto for the Presbyterian Church, which means
our “Church is reformed, always reforming” according to the Word of
God and the call of the Spirit. This
means that we know we are not a “perfect” church; we always need to be
humble and willing to change in order to be more of what God intends for
us. We are inclusive and open
to the movement of the Spirit, as we seek to be Christ-centered and
biblically oriented. 3)
We care about you and our community. We really want to share in your joys, hear your ideas, and
listen to your concerns. Far too
often, people regularly e-mail strangers across the
globe but do not even know their neighbors.
We
believe that we need each other. We all struggle through life, whether it is an illness, the death
of a friend, divorce, financial difficulties, depression, or other tough
situations. There is a story
in everyone’s eyes that may be aching to be heard, and it is not good to bear life’s burdens on our own.
We believe that the church is a community formed out of the love of God to reach
out and care for each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. 2)
Contrary to popular belief, there is something more to life than
NASCAR and BBQ. Going to
worship helps you to find a meaningful purpose to life.
It also can serve to rejuvenate and reenergize you for the rest of
the week in a much better way than sleeping in on Sunday mornings and
attending "Bedside Baptist" or the "Church of the Holy Comforter. 1)
We are quite possibly the warmest and friendliest church around.
(But, don’t just take our word for it.
Stop by and check us out.)
